When you arrive for your first visit you will be greeted with a smile at the front desk where we will review your dental and medical history forms and update patient information. A typical dental cleaning begins under the care of your dental hygienist. During this time you will receive a thorough cleaning and polish to remove plaque and dental x-rays. We will check your teeth for cavities or early signs of tooth decay and gingivitis, discuss your x-rays and provide a custom treatment plan and answer any question you may have regarding your oral health.
The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist at least twice a year, or every six months, for a routine teeth cleaning and checkup to protect your oral and overall health.
We understand your busy schedule and make each appointment as efficient as possible while delivery the highest quality of care. When preparing for your appointment remember that visits can last between 60 and 90 minutes.
Q: Do you take insurance?
A: Most dental insurance will not cover all of your treatment; however, Opelika Dental coordinators always work to maximize your dental benefits. Our office policy for dental insurance requires that the patient, once his/her coverage has been verified by our business office team, pay for at least that estimated portion of the treatment not covered by insurance carriers on the day that the treatment is rendered. We ask that each patient bring the proper insurance form(s) at each visit, and that the patient information portion of the insurance form be filled out completely in advance of the visit. Please present the completed forms to the front desk team member, after signing in, upon your arrival at the office.
We are happy to help you if you need assistance in understanding your dental insurance coverage. Please do not hesitate to consult our business office team. They will make certain that you are able to receive the maximum allowable benefit from your insurance in the resolution of your dental needs.

A: Many people are uncomfortable with visiting the dentist. Your comfort is our highest priority and our office is designed so that you can enjoy a relaxing dental visit. Nitrous oxide is offered to keep you comfortable and relaxed. You may also bring headphones and listen to music or a podcast to keep your mind distracted.
