New Patients

The team at Opelika Dental is passionate about providing you and your family with the highest level of dental care in a comfortable atmosphere.

When you arrive for your first visit you will be greeted with a smile at the front desk where we will review your dental and medical history forms and update patient information. A typical dental cleaning begins under the care of your dental hygienist. During this time you will receive a thorough cleaning and polish to remove plaque and dental x-rays. We will check your teeth for cavities or early signs of tooth decay and gingivitis, discuss your x-rays and provide a custom treatment plan and answer any question you may have regarding your oral health.

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist at least twice a year, or every six months, for a routine teeth cleaning and checkup to protect your oral and overall health.

We understand your busy schedule and make each appointment as efficient as possible while delivery the highest quality of care. When preparing for your appointment remember that visits can last between 60 and 90 minutes.

FAQ

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: Most dental insurance will not cover all of your treatment; however, Opelika Dental coordinators always work to maximize your dental benefits. Our office policy for dental insurance requires that the patient, once his/her coverage has been verified by our business office team, pay for at least that estimated portion of the treatment not covered by insurance carriers on the day that the treatment is rendered. We ask that each patient bring the proper insurance form(s) at each visit, and that the patient information portion of the insurance form be filled out completely in advance of the visit. Please present the completed forms to the front desk team member, after signing in, upon your arrival at the office.

We are happy to help you if you need assistance in understanding your dental insurance coverage. Please do not hesitate to consult our business office team. They will make certain that you are able to receive the maximum allowable benefit from your insurance in the resolution of your dental needs.

Q: I want cosmetic dentistry. Does my insurance pay for it?
A: Dental insurance is designed to assist you in paying for your dentistry. Most procedures are not fully covered by your insurance. Cosmetic dentistry, in particular, is not covered by most dental insurance plans. To help you afford your smile, we do offer a variety of payment options in addition to a monthly payment plan provided by our financial partner, Care Credit™. We also pay special attention to maximizing the benefits that your insurance does provide. Ask us how you can comfortably afford your dentistry and maximize your dental insurance benefits.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Nothing should stand between you and a gorgeous, healthy smile. We offer a variety of payment options to get you started on your journey to satisfaction right away.  If you don’t see the information you are looking for, please feel free to call us directly.  Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Q: What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please fill out your patient health and history forms prior to your visit. You can download and print the DOC’s here.
Q: I really do not like visiting the dentist, is there anything you can do to help me relax?

A: Many people are uncomfortable with visiting the dentist. Your comfort is our highest priority and our office is designed so that you can enjoy a relaxing dental visit. Nitrous oxide is offered to keep you comfortable and relaxed. You may also bring headphones and listen to music or a podcast to keep your mind distracted.

Q: Do you accept new patient referrals?

A: Over the years patients have given us the compliment of referring family and friends to our practice. Our reputation for excellent dental care depends on two things: our good work and your beautiful smile. Your confidence in our care motivates us to continue to strive for excellence. Thank you for your referrals. Your trust and support are greatly appreciated.
